ServeSD

We can't change our City...
but we can serve our City.

What do we mean when we say,
"Serve with Dignity?"

For far too long the church’s model of serving and “missions,” has perpetuated unhealthy power dynamics.

Too often, the well-meaning affluent leave feeling good about themselves, while those who they served, feel that their agency has been diminished.

No one likes to be a charity case.

When we make the move from serving as charity, to serving with dignity, we empower those that we serve in any way possible.

We listen to them, we go about it their way (even if we think our way is better), we allow for presence and an equitable exchange whenever possible, we recognize that we have as much to learn from them, as they may have to gain from us, and we strive to ensure that our helping does no long term harm.

Join us as we serve our city with dignity.

Upcoming ServeSD Opportunities

We are collecting items to help support Restoration 225 (one of our partner organizations) as they resource and empower new foster families or families with new foster placements.
We are receiving car seats, diapers and baby formula, as well as bedding or clothing.
Bring items to church all month long, and we deliver them at the end of the month to Restoration 225.
